
Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born July 9, 1956. He is an American actor film maker, director, and actor. He is renowned for his dramatic and comedy role and is regarded as to be an American popular culture icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was the father of Janet Marylyn, a hospital worker, and Amos Mefford Hanks (an itinerant chef). His mother, who was originally referred to as "Fraga", was an ethnically Portuguese family. His father was mainly English. Tom grew up in an unnamed family that he considers "fractured". He didn't have any performing experience at the time of his college. This is the reason that helped to launch his career. He tried out for auditions in downtown Cleveland for a play in the community theater. The director offered him a trip to Cleveland and that was where his acting career started.
